“The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place.”

George Bernard Shaw

We have identified 5 levels of communication:

Level 1 - Problematic Communication (click for more info)

Mainly unconscious, Often unclear, assumptions and biases presented as facts, poor listening skills, leading to misunderstandings and relationship breakdown.

Level 2 - Standard Communication

As Level 1, mainly unconscious, operates in autopilot, resulting in a mix of positive and negative outcomes.

Level 3 - Effective Communication

Some communication skills learning put into practice, such as verbal/non verbal communication, presentation skills, or open questions.

Level 4 - Skilled Communication

Advanced communication skills demonstrated such as building rapport, understanding communication styles, and negotiating skills are performed appropriately and with ease.

Level 5 - Conscious Communication

A heightened level of awareness to avoid assumption, expectation, biases etc. leading to the highest levels of trust, clarity of thinking, collaboration between people, and individual and team creativity. Conscious Communication allows each individual to access their best attributes, and to positively influence others to do the same.
